INTEL Will Presents Quad Core Chip Soon
Monday, May 5th, 2008Wish to have powerful notebook then dual core technology which have had now? Just wait, because Intel has already to release quad core chip for notebook at third quarter this year. May be designed to desktop replacement notebook type, that product will produce according to Core 2 Duo micro architecture and 45 nanometer process. But, specification detail still confidential. The issue said that the chip will be given label Core 2 Extreme QX9300. it is very suitable for gamers or users who work with notebook all day.
This quad-core chip will be released after Intel launch Centrino 2 platform (the code is Montevina) whose issue will be launched at second quarter this year. For you who don’t know yet, Montevina is Mobile Centrino Platform upgrade. This offers WiMAX and WiFi network capability in just one chip. Inside Montevina, will consist in processor based on Core 2 micro architecture. It is big possibility quad core will integrated to that platform.
Though more up to date, this quad core has insufficiency, CPU with four core will need more energy resource then CPU with two core, even the CPU clock setup slower. So there are issue relate to notebook battery capability which has to be improved by Intel if they want the latest chip popular.
