Confines Cache Size In Order To Do Windows File Protection

If is no confined, Windows cache file size that is used to file protection could be very large. If you have small size harddisk, confines the cache file size.

Windows has saves storeroom that is placed hidden. The function is to saves various system file as back-up. This back-up usage is giving back Windows system file when there are files accumulation by another program.

Back up file collection is placed by Microsoft at C:\Windows\system32\dllcache. If you looking for that file this time, there is possibility you can not find dllcache folder. To show it, you must click [Tools] > [Folder Options…] > [View], then removes mark beside [hide protected operating system files] at Advanced Settings part. After you click [OK] button, dllcache subfolder will appear below system32.

Dllcache contain content so large, could reach hundreds MB. Large enough, isn’t it? To confines the size, follow these steps below :

  1. Execute Group Policy Editor by clicking [Start] . [Run] then types “gpedit.msc” at open column, afterwards push the enter button.
  2. Enter to Local Computer Policy\Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Windows File Protection.
  3. Click two times [Limit Windows File Protection cache size].
  4. At the properties box, select radio button [Enabled].
  5. Fill in the cache limit that you wish at Cache Size box (in MB), number that is you filled in megabyte unit.
  6. f you have specified, click [OK] and close Group Policy window.
