As Wordpress.org broadcasted, they had just released Wordpress 2.6.2. Different from 2.6.1 version which is not obliged the users for doing upgrade, but in this version, the users of 2.6.1 version and lower are overture to upgrade to 2.6.2. This is caused one of the hole in SQL Column Truncation and the weakness of mt_rand() function.

With this security hole, if our blog allowing open registration to users, then the possibility is users password could be reset or changed to be random password. This could confuse users. If irresponsible person recurring attack this hole, password might be hacked. Then, how to upgrade?

Actually, we have to upload all of requested and used file to server when doing Wordpress upgrade. I suggest you to use Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugins to ease you upgrade your Worpress to the latest ones. After plugins have been installed, you just have to do several clicks and follow the steps which are given. Make sure to save data backup that have been generated.

When you are in administrator page, it will show you information that Wordpress 2.6.2 is available, and then please update now.
